PDP

I have decided on two stages of PDP to help me become a better and more successful artist. Firstly is to improve work flow, and second is to improve work quality. These are both very important and key things that you need to master to become a successful artist so now i am going to relay my plan of action to polish these skills.

Firstly, regarding work flow, I have thought a lot about how i can increase my work flow in a positive way and come up with an idea to help push it along. I know that personally i work better with pressure and deadlines, so i wanted to find a way to interpret that into my music. I have decided that to motivate me too finish and release projects i will release one track every week, this doesn’t need to necessarily be a new track because i have hundreds of unfinished projects, but it needs to be of good quality. I feel that this will help me a lot in actually finishing projects and getting them out.

Secondly, Work quality. I play the piano, drums, guitar and bass but i am not very good with theory, therefore making up music i can only do by improvising visually, I play a lot of jazz which this way of playing works well with but it becomes a bit of a pain whilst producing. I have decided that i am going to study music theory intensely practicing every day for small amounts of time and i also want to learn the Saxophone so that i am able to play a wind instrument as well

Strengths and weakness

I find that my main weakness in creating music is finishing projects, or convincng myself that i’m happy enough with a project to finish it. I usually move onto a new idea mid-way through a project resulting in tonnes of unfinished material that i cant release or send out to other DJs. Part of that is due to me not being happy with my mixing and mastering skills and the ither half is simply not having the time to sit down and go through those procedures. I would like to improve my work rate in the future.

K-Funkz Studios

K-funkz 03.08.18

On the 3rd of August 2018 I hosted the 7th K-Funkz night at the Bullingdon. The event consited of Drum and Bass, Jungle and Dubstep from 4 different DJs playing 1 hour each (including myself). I built some light up speakers and turned some road signs into lights as well. I was also using the LED strips that i had built for previous events. I did all the graphic design and poster work myself including the promotional video. The event went very well, with roughly 400 people turning up to the night.
